The Terra Nova The Solar Photon 2 is one of the lightest two-person self-supporting tents available. Designed with stability in mind, with front and rear fly hoods for great ventilation, the tent is ideal for shorter trips where low weight is paramount. The Solar Photon 2 tent is an extremely lightweight 2-person self-supporting tent, making it ideal for backpacking where minimum weight is paramount.
Quality Materials
The Solar Photon 2 is easy to pitch, with a simple single-pole design that provides stability and support. The tent's flysheet is made of Watershed Endurance, a high-performance fabric that is waterproof and has a hydrostatic head rating of 3000mm, making it suitable for use in light to moderate rain. The tent's inner tent is made of breathable nylon, which helps to prevent condensation and keep the interior of the tent dry and comfortable. The tent's porch area is small but sufficient for storing gear and equipment.
Packed with features
One of the unique features of the Solar Photon 2 is the use of Terra Nova's patented TBS II Tension Band System, which helps to stabilize the tent in windy conditions. The TBS II consists of two straps that run from the tent's corners to the middle of the tent, providing additional support and preventing the tent from collapsing in strong winds. The Solar Photon 2 also features an adjustable vent system, which allows campers to adjust the amount of ventilation in the tent according to their needs. The tent also has internal storage pockets, which provide convenient storage for small items.
Safety first
The tent's reflective guy lines and webbing make it easy to spot in low light conditions, reducing the risk of tripping over guy lines. The Solar Photon 2 comes with a repair kit, including patches and glue for fixing any damage to the tent's fabric. The tent is also compatible with Terra Nova's Carbon Reflex poles, which can be used as a replacement for the alloy poles.
Size and design
The Solar Photon 2 has two doors, one at the front and one at the back, which provide easy access and increased ventilation. The tent's porch area also has a zippered door, which can be used as an additional entrance or to create a sheltered cooking area. The tent's compact size and lightweight design make it easy to carry, with a weight of just 1.2 kg and a packed size of 40 x 12 cm.
Why Should You Buy This Tent?
In summary, the Terra Nova Solar Photon 2-man tent is a lightweight and compact tent that is designed for backpackers and outdoor enthusiasts who require a tent that is both lightweight and durable. Its easy-to-pitch design, high-quality materials, and thoughtful features make it a popular choice among outdoor enthusiasts who value portability and versatility.
